From the application for a place of study to the last examination, it may be necessary to adapt the conditions of access, study and learning in such a way that students do not suffer any disadvantage due to disabilities or chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n

The authorised representatives can be contacted by all university members, applicants and parents. They will pass on all concerns to the appropriate office or institution or provide a solution to the multifaceted problems, whenever possible.<\/p>\n

The representatives support ABK Stuttgart in its tasks to address the concerns of applicants and students with disabilities or chronic illnesses regarding access, study and exam conditions. They help implement appropriate measures to enable equal participation and reduce barriers and disadvantages in higher education. In particular, the representatives work towards compensating for disadvantages in access to study programmes, in the organisation of studies and in examinations.<\/p>\n

The duties of the representatives for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses are enshrined in Section 18 of the ABK Stuttgart’s Constitution (Grundordnung):<\/p>\n

If you are experiencing mental health issues, you can seek advice from an external counsellor. The student representative for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses is also always available to listen to your concerns.<\/p>\n

However, in order to be able to help, everyone involved relies on being informed by those affected about their disability or other limitations, chronic illness, or any requests and suggestions they may have. It is therefore our hope and our goal that you make use of this resource in good time so that your studies can proceed as smoothly as possible.<\/p>\n

Should an application for compensation for disadvantages be necessary following a consultation, this will be gladly accepted directly by the Examination Board of the respective department or by the Examination Office on campus.<\/p>\n
