The State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, is authorised to award doctoral degrees in the field of architecture (Dr.-Ing.) and in the fields of art history, media theory, art education, aesthetics and art technology\/conservation (Dr. phil.).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

Doctorate at the ABK<\/h3> <\/summary>\n \n\n

To be eligible for a doctorate at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, applicants must have completed a degree programme of at least four academic years with above-average examination results at an art college or university. Outstanding graduates from universities of applied sciences may also be admitted as doctroral students following an aptitude assessment procedure. <\/p>\n

A further requirement for applying to undertake a doctorate is a commitment to supervise from a professor conducting research at the ABK Stuttgart. You should therefore first contact the supervisor who is suitable for the subject area of your doctorate and discuss your research proposal. <\/p>\n

The basis for the conduct of doctoral procedures is the Doctoral Regulations of 24 October 2017:<\/p>\n

Doctoral Committee<\/h4> <\/summary>\n \n\n

\n \n

The Doctoral Committee takes all decisions relating to the doctoral process. It appoints the individual doctoral boards and advises on all matters concerning doctoral studies. The Doctoral Committee meets twice a year. <\/p>\n
