Zun&auml;chst stellt sich das Portrait als eine humoristische Darstellung eines Freundes des Malers dar, man k&ouml;nnte an einen Schnappschuss auf einer Party oder einer Geburtstagsfeier denken bei der jemand aus Jux mit einer Krone geehrt wird. Doch stellt man bei genauerem Hinsehen fest, das sich die Art der Malerei bei Portrait und Krone stark unterscheiden, was eine innere Spannung erzeugt die sich nicht direkt aufl&ouml;sen lasst, so dass die Betrachtenden gen&ouml;tigt sind sich eingehender mit dem Gem&auml;lde zu befassen. Dabei wird festzustellen sein, dass der Bildausschnitt auf eigent&uuml;mliche Weise beschnitten erscheint. Diese beiden Aspekte leiten dann auch &uuml;ber zur kunsthistorischen Zitatebene, die die zweite Lesart vorstellt. So ist die Krone in ihrer Malweise der Malerei des afroamerikanischen Malers Jean-Michel Basquiat entnommen, bei welchem sie immer wieder auftaucht. Andererseits ist das rundum angeschnittene Format des Gem&auml;ldes und auch der Umstand &uuml;berhaupt eine Person mit Krone darzustellen direkt an das Queen-Portrait des englischen Malers Lucien Freud angelehnt. Somit stellt sich dieses zun&auml;chst humoristische Portrait als eine dezidierte Auseinandersetzung mit zeitgen&ouml;ssischer Malerei dar, was f&uuml;r den eher mit fr&uuml;hneuzeitlich-neuzeitlichen
