Course content

At ABK Stuttgart, industrial design studies are integrated into a wide range of other artistic and design courses. This distinctive feature makes studying at ABK unique and sets it apart from design courses at other universities. Teaching takes place in small, excellently supervised groups, with workshops and laboratories playing a central role in artistic training.

After an interdisciplinary foundation year with students from the architecture programme, the course focuses on contemporary design, imparting comprehensive technical and practical knowledge, and developing reflective skills. Students work on their own designs and projects in modern workshops and laboratories, critically examining their social role. Theoretical and practical project work go hand in hand.
