The conference aims to address a different topic, lying between aesthetics and practical philosophy, which has not been sufficiently addressed so far: The question of how music is an expression of human agency. The goal is to discuss (i) the different ways in which music can be understood in terms of action, (ii) what can be the contribution of music to the understanding of action, and conversely, (iii) how philosophy of action can contribute to the understanding of aspects of musical experience.
