„Wall“ is an exhibition that centers on the wall as a force of separation and as a mechanism that shapes the visibility and invisibility of worlds, bodies, and cities. It explores walls as a purely architectural element, that produces spatial boundaries, negotiates power.
The research begins with skin, the body’s first wall: a permeable boundary that holds the tension between inside and outside. From this intimate scale, the inquiry expands toward the urban wall.
Through a constellation of drawings, installations, video works, and text, the exhibition traces the shifting roles of the wall across different mediums. The „Wall“ seeks to explore and imagine this fundamental architectural element and the concepts it carries.
Sepideh Elmi is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in the exploration of space and its relationship to the body. In her work, the body is perceived as an archive of memory, and her creative process is deeply intertwined with ongoing research on embodiment and spatiality.
She began her artistic journey as a sculptor, seeking a deeper understanding of spatial experience. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, and later completed her Master’s degree in Body, Theory, and Poetics of the Performative at ABK Stuttgart. Her current doctoral research focuses on performative architecture.
