Weaving workshop
Mon–Fri 9 am–12 noon and 1 pm–4 pm
Weißenhof Campus,
Keramikbau, Rooms 224 and 225
On the manual and computer-controlled looms in the weaving workshop, the visual, tactile and value-adding diversity of fabric qualities is explored in an artistic, creative and innovative manner. Working with yarns, materials and colours within the technical constraints of weaving constantly opens up new, often surprising creative possibilities and encourages experimentation.
Theoretical knowledge of weaving techniques and technical calculations, weaving-related software, and practical training on looms spanning several semesters form the basis for the creation of experimental one-off pieces or fabric prototypes suitable for industrial production.
