AKArt student card

• Student ID card showing your name, matriculation number, photo and period of validity
• Cashless payments in canteens and cafeterias and for other services provided by the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart
• Printing, copying and payments on campus: use of the PaperCut system provided by ABK Stuttgart

Please note: The AKArt is not a VVS (public transport) ticket! At the end of the 2023 summer semester, the Studierendenwerk’s subsidy for the VVS ticket came to an end due to new public transport ticket schemes (e.g. the Deutschlandticket). Students must therefore purchase a separate ticket for public transport from VVS or Deutsche Bahn sales points.

Loss or damage

Should it become necessary to issue a new card in the event of loss or damage, a fee of 20 euros will be charged. A new student ID card can be applied for via the ABK Campus system or directly at the Office of Student Affairs (see below).

Official change of name

Would you like a new student ID card following an official change of name? Once you have submitted an official document to the Office of Student Affairs confirming the name change, your name will be updated in the ABK Campus system. The IT Centre will then create a new ABK email address for you, and a new ID card can be issued. There are no additional costs. The application process is described below.

Since the 2025 summer semester, students have been able to apply for a new student ID card via the ABK Campus System (HISinOne).
