The Costume Design course’s workshop, equipped with professional facilities, offers students at the ABK Stuttgart the opportunity to bring costume designs and artistic textile objects to life in an experimental and project-based manner on a small scale.
The programme focuses on advising and supporting students in the conception and realisation of artistic designs. Basic knowledge of craft processes, taking into account the specific properties of materials, is taught in workshop courses.
A specialist library, a fabric sample archive and a collection of historical costumes are available for research into costume studies and the history of textiles.
